Gokyo & Gokyo Ri

With the less crowd trails, Gokyo is a fabulous trek with the exceptional view of Everest and other three above 8000m mountain, Mt. Lhotse 8516m, Mt. Makalu 8463m, Mt. Cho Oyu 8201 and also others 27 snowy caped mountains of Everest Himalayan range. This beautiful Gokyo valley has offer you a proper Tibetan Sherpa culture with alot of yaks. Gokyo lake is one of the beautiful lake in Everest trekking trail located at 4750m and Gokyo Ri 5360m is highest point of this trekking which gives you mighty view of the great himalayas.

Standard Itinerary

Day 1: Kathmandu 1350 M - Lukla 2840M - Phakding (2600 M), 3 hours walk

Early in the morning you head to the airport for your flight to Lukla. This is an approximately 45 minutes flight with incredible mountain views north to the Himalayan Range. After meeting the crew in Lukla, you head up the Dudh Koshi River Valley on a well-marked trail to Phakding.
Trekking time: approx. 4 hours

Day 2: Namche Bazaar (3440M), 6 hours walk

This morning you continue north following the Dudh Koshi river and on to Jorsale where you enter the Sagarmatha (Everest) National Park. From here it is a short walk to the confluence of two rivers, the ImjaDrangpa (ImjaKhola) and the Nangpo Tsangpo (BhoteKosi) where you cross once more on a suspension bridge. This is followed by a steep climb (for about 2hrs) up to Namche Bazaar, the main town in the Khumbu region. Namche is a prosperous Sherpa town and an important trading centre with a weekly Saturday market.

Day 3: Rest day

Today is for letting your bodies rest and acclimatise. If you are feeling good you could go for an acclimatisation walk, or explore the village. Namche Bazaar is tucked away between two ridges amongst the giant peaks of the Khumbu. Options for acclimatisation walks include a visit to Khunde Hospital, or the one hour walk up to the Everest Hotel above Namche for the view of AmaDablam, Nuptse, Lhotse and Everest, with many more in the mix as well.

Day 4: Phortse (3810 M)

From Namche, the trail contours around the side of the valley, high above the river and, as you go, you get great views of the great peaks of the Khumbu including Mt Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and AmaDablam. After dropping down steeply to the river at PhunkiTenga and having lunch, you have a long steep climb up through beautiful forest to tonight's lodge. Tyangboche is famous for its legendary monastery, the largest in the Khumbu and you will stay near this monastery with Everest, Lhotse and AmaDablam in full view.
Trekking time: approx. 6 hours
Heights: Tyangboche 3860m

Day 5: Dole (4090 M), 6 hours walk

After breakfast you head on up the trail to Dingboche. You firstdescend through stunning forest to Deboche and then cross the river and have a short climb to Pangboche which is a good lunch spot. On this side of the river stunning Ama Dablam is prominent and a stunning distraction from the trail as you continue up to Dingboche for the night.

Day 6: Machhermo (4410 M)

Today is for letting your bodies rest and acclimatise. If you are feeling good you could go for an acclimatisation walk up the valley for a wider variety of photos of the valley and mountains of the Khumbu region.

Day 7: Gokyo (4750 M), 6 hours

Todayyou head up a widevalleybeneath the impressivepeaks of Cholatse and Tawache on the left. You 'turn right' and climb more steeplytowards the foot of the KhumbuGlacier, passingmanystonecairns, built as memorials to the manySherpaswho have died helping peopleclimbMt Everest. The paththenclimbsgentlyalong the glacier to reach the cluster of houses at Lobuche.

Day 8: Gokyo & Around

Today you will walk 3 hours to Gorakshep along Khumbu Glacier and lunch and after lunch continue walk to Everest Base Camp. The walk to base camp and back would require about 5-6 hours, following the Khumbu glacier, sometimes on moraine and sometimes on the glacier itself. On reaching the base camp, please respect the space of the expeditions based there, but enjoy this crowning moment, before returning down the long trail back to Gorak Shep.

Heights: GorakShep 5170m, Everest Base Camp 5350m

Day 9: Phortse (3810 M)

This morning you get up early to start the climb up to one of the finest viewpoints in the Everest region, Kala Pattar 5554 m enjoying the sunrise over the mountains and the amazing views of Everest and the surrounding mountains you trek back to GorakShep. After breakfast you will walk downhill most of the way, as you retrace our steps to Duglha and then descend into Pheriche.
Trekking time: 8 hours
Heights: Kala Pattar 5550m; GorakShep 5170m
Overnight in tea house

Day 10: Namche Bazaar (3420 M)

From Phortse you descend to the bridge over the DudhKosi and from there you will steeply ascend to Mongla, after the descend and gradual walk back to Namche.
Trekking time: approx. 5 hours
Heights: Namche bazaar 3440m
Overnight in tea house

Day 11: Lukla (2800 M)

From Namche Bazaar you will be amazed at how easy that steep trail is to go down (as opposed to the hard slog you had as you came up) as you descend back down to the village of Jorsale. Passing the villages of Phakding and Choplung, you the trail that cuts up to the airstrip at Lukla.
Trekking time: approx. 7 hours
Heights: Lukla 2840m
Overnight in tea house

Day 12: Flight to Kathmandu

This morning you get up early to catch the morning flight to Kathmandu from Lukla.
